Other Witnesses:
Name withheld from published report
Incident Description:
While heading down a snowmobile trail during the late afternoon I saw a very tall, large, dark figure walking on 2 legs, hunched slightly forward, cross the snowmobile trail approximately 100 yards in front of my snowmobile. I was the second of 2 snowmobiles on the trail. I slowed down slightly at the point where I saw the figure but saw no tracks or trail leading into the thick brush. We were on a straight railroad grade trail with no houses or developments nearby.
Subject Description:
Tall, large, dark figure upright on 2 legs that appeared to be slightly hunched over.
Other Details:
I did not mention what I had seen to my buddy until the following day when he brought it up. He said " You know, I saw something cross the trail yesterday and I'm not sure what it was." I told him that I too had seen something and described it as I stated above. He agreed and said that was what he saw as well, and he also saw no tracks or exit point off of the trail.
The date could have been the 28th of December.
The recent story in the news inspired me to report my sighting.

Investigation Report:
After speaking with the witness via phone, it is the belief of this investigator that the witness recalled events to the best of his ability. No additional details were added by the witness, nor did he speculate on any aspect of the incident.

Upon questioning, the witness gives as a rough estimate a height between seven and eight feet, and a weight of four hundred or more pounds. The distance estimate is between 100 and 150 yards across a trail, with a duration estimate of approximately five to six seconds.

The witness believes that the creature in question had a longish stride as it crossed in front of their snowmobiles, though no tracks or trail were visible when he and the second witness looked.

This witness has asked his friend who also witnessed the subject to likewise submit his perspective and details of the event to SRI as soon as he has the time.

The weather condition and area map checks support the claim of the witness as the area is heavily forested. The day was slightly overcast with a wind-speed of 8.1 MPH. The area is heavily forested along the trail in question, with both the railroad tracks and snowmobile trails running through the area as claimed.

The witness was prompted to submit their sighting due to the recent media exposure concerning Bigfoot in the U.P.
