Loren Coleman is well known in the world of Cryptozoology. He is a Lifetime Member of the International Society of Cryptozoology and the author of twenty books. He has appeared on radio and television programs and has spoken at numerous conferences around the country. He has been teaching documentary film, cryptozoology and anthropology courses at New England Universities for over 20 years. Like so many things in the world of sasquatch research, reality is in the eye of the beholder. Let’s be honest and acknowledge that there is a lot of gossip in this field. Mr. Coleman, being a well-known figure, has certainly received his fair share, and I have heard both good and bad.

Realizing, of course, that talk is just talk, I started reading Bigfoot!: The True Story of Apes in America with an open mind, and I’m glad I did. I found this book to be one of the most comprehensive and well-written books I have come across on the subject. Coleman is meticulous in his research and his vast knowledge and passion of the subject is apparent on every page.

I would highly recommend this book for both the savvy researcher and enthusiastic novice alike. You will come away from it with an education, as Coleman shows his talents as an historian. Although a lot of the material in this book has been well covered by other authors, such as John Green, it never hurts to have a brush up and hear a different perspective. I can honestly say that after reading this book, I have a newfound respect for the knowledge Mr. Coleman has to offer. I think you will find this book an historic chronicle of significant sasquatch related events, written by a man who has dedicated many years to this study.
