Pictorial View of Report 48

How many times have you read a report and wished you could see a picture or two? I am always trying to create a picture in my mind when I read a report. I have actually traveled to several spots to see for myself what the terrain looked like in a sighting area. I recently had a chance here at SRI to take a report from a hunter who had an interesting sighting in the western Sierras — see Report #48. You can read about it in the SRI CoRE sightings database in the California section. I took the initial report from the witness over the phone, but we both agreed it would be a great idea to go to the site together and see everything first hand.

I brought my digital camera and took pictures at various spots where things happened during the hunter’s experience that day. The first picture is of the creek where he thought he heard something balancing on a rock.

The next few pictures are from the meadow where he heard what he described as something that sounded like somebody banging a piece of wood on a rock. He said it sounded very loud and it also sounded close.
